Cooperative Object Transport in 3D with Multiple Quadrotors using No Peer Communication

چکیده
We present a framework to enable a fleet of rigidly attached quadrotor aerial robots to transport heavy objects along a known reference trajectory without interrobot communication or centralized coordination. Leveraging a distributed wrench controller, we provide exponential stability guarantees for the entire assembly, under a mild geometric condition. This is achieved by each quadrotor independently solving a local optimization problem to counteract the biased torque effects from each robot in the assembly. We rigorously analyze the controllability of the object, design a distributed compensation scheme to address these challenges, and show that the resulting strategy collectively guarantees full group control authority. To ensure feasibility for online implementation, we derive bounds on the net desired control wrench, characterize the output wrench space of each quadrotor, and perform subsequent trajectory optimization under these input constraints. We thoroughly validate our method in simulation with eight quadrotors transporting a heavy object in a cluttered environment subject to various sources of uncertainty, and demonstrate the algorithm’s resilience.

Cooperative Control of Multiple Quadrotors for Transporting a Common Payload
This paper investigates the problem of controlling a team of Quadrotors that cooperatively transport a common payload. The main contribution of this study is to propose a cooperative control algorithm based on a decentralized algorithm. This strategy is comprised of two main steps: the first one is calculating the basic control vectors for each Quadrotor using Moore–Penrose theory aiming at coo...

In this paper, we consider the problem of controlling multiple quadrotor robots that cooperatively grasp and transport a payload in three dimensions. We model the quadrotors both individually and as a group rigidly attached to a payload. We propose individual robot control laws defined with respect to the payload that stabilize the payload along three-dimensional trajectories. We detail the des...

Background. Basketball is a dynamic sport where athletes are expected to observe the fast movements of team players and opponents in a performance. This condition requires a collective focus on the stipulated tasks, to achieve peak performance. Besides, training is frequently performed to improve concentration and athlete performance. This instigates the need for technology-based methods, inclu...

This paper examines the cooperative communication of multiple agents with no parent-child relation or hierarchy. In this communication framework, the multi agent communication must not be affected by the communication network failure between robots. Under this condition, a new communication framework was proposed which has allowed each agent to share the local information with reliable data del...

We propose a distributed force and torque controller for a group of robots to collectively transport objects with both translation and rotation control. No explicit communication among robots is required. This work goes beyond previous works by including rotation control and experimental demonstrations on a custom built robot platform. We prove that follower robots can synchronize both their fo...
